BUSINESS MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY
Instructor- Shannone Hudson

Business is the #1 major in colleges all over the country. Why? 
A major in business prepares graduates for a variety of different careers in management, marketing, sales, advertising, banking or entrepreneurship. Own your own business or work for a larger company. Business is flexible and offers the most job opportunities make you financially independent. Those with just a bachelor’s degree report average starting salaries of $41,200 and mid-career salaries of $70,700.

Sign up today and get a early start to making big $$$$ in your future! Upon successful completion of year one, students will  receive a 1/2 credit for Personal Finance. Two year completers will receive a total of 4 credits. 



ENGINEERING AND ROBOTICS
Instructor- Alan Moore

Robotics and Engineering is a program that combines academics and technology. It is designed for students in the vast assortment of engineering degrees. This program provides students with an expanded knowledge of the use of technological skills and enables them to solve problems by applying knowledge in a technical context. Academic and technical skills, 21st century skills, and communication are areas that will help students in college as well as the work force. CNC Milling, programming, robotics, architectural design, digital media, and 3D modeling are just a few of the concepts in which the students will become engaged. Eagerness to learn work, and a strong desire to achieve are traits that Robotics and Engineering students need to exhibit. This class will cover concepts that are taught in Physical Science and Physics classrooms. The difference here is the experience of utilizing industrial grade equipment in a hands-on environment.

Auto Body/Collision Repair
Instructor- Noah Wren

In Auto Body, we have a variety of work experiences. Some examples are: taking two vehicles and making one, oil changes, tire rotations, fix and balance tires. We fix minor wrecks and refurbish cars, trucks and trailers. We also give all of our students the fundamentals of welding and use of the cutting torch. If you think you would enjoy painting and repairing cars, trucks, and maybe even tractors, then Auto Body is where you need to be! Make this program a part of your schedule for the fall. HEALTH SCIENCES
Instructors-  April Holton & Twilla Richardson

Do you have what it takes to be in the healthcare field? Health Ser3vices is a great way to find out. We will guide you through two years of medical technology, Anatomy and Physiology, and HOSA. Through job shadowing and clinicals at the hospitals and clinics, you will learn what it takes to be a professional. We learn proper patient interaction by visiting nursing homes where we often play bingo and checkers with the residents. This is a great program to help you decide on your career path in the medical field. In adition, you will receive 2 academic credits in Biological Sciences and 2 elective creditas a a two year completer. You can sign up for Health Sciences I as a 10th or 11th grader. See your high school counselor to sign up.


WELDING
Instructor- Dewayne Ling

Welders are a very important part of the construction industry. Welders are in demand for ship building on the coast, highway construction, bridge building, and commercial structure repair and replacement throughout Mississippi. New manufacturing facilities, which will require welders, are being built Columbus, Blue Springs, Yellow Creek. Our welding program at the CTE Center will give you a solid head start toward an excellent paying career. Come join our welding class and learn a skill that will help get you a great job!



RESIDENTIAL CARPENTRY
Instructor- James Stark

Sign up for our Residential Carpentry program in the fall. That statement sounds dull, but the program is very exciting. Would you like to be an architect, contractor, or a carpenter? What a great feeling it would be to know that you have the skills to make repairs on your home or that you could be part of a team that builds houses, churches, and many other buildings. This program could provide the start you need to become an architect that designs buildings. Come to "The Center" in August and join a class that will give you hands on experience in all phases of construction.




LAW AND PUBLIC SAFETY
Instructor- Dave Allen

Law & Public Safety is a two year program that combines academics and hands-on training. Law and Public Safety I is an excellent intro to those interested in law and or law enforcement. the course examines the history of the law and the legal system in the United States. Students are taught job opportunities in local and state law enforcement (ex: police, highway patrol, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics) as well as federal law enforcement ( ex. DEA, FBI, Secret Service, U.S. Marshal).

Law and Public Safety II focuses on exciting career opportunities in emergency medical services and fire protection services for careers as paramedic or firemen. The course will also offer the opportunity to examine all areas of the military and the professions associated with each. Students are provided with two hours each week of physical fitness training and will receive a P.E. credit.




CULINARY ARTS
Instructor- Tiara Andress

Culinary Arts is a two-year classroom and hands-on instructional program that prepares students for employment or continuing education in the food service industry.

Culinary ARTS I is the first year of the program. Food preparation techniques covered in the first year are breakfast foods, dairy, sandwiches, salads, garnishes, fruits, and vegetables. Management skills emphasized are basic customer service, food safety and sanitation, workplace safety and security, culinary basics, equipment, nutrition, human resources, math, and controlling food cost.

Culinary ARTS II is a continuation of the emphasis on management and food preparation. Management topics include marketing, accounting, purchasing, inventory, and advanced customer service. Food preparation techniques covered include potatoes, grains, desserts, baked goods, meat, poultry, seafood, stocks, sauces, and soups. An exploration of culinary history is also included in year two.
